City of Spillville – Special Council Meeting Minutes

Call to Order: Mayor Wermers called the special council meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
Roll Call: Present: Council Members Kelsay, Backes, Schmitt, Straube, and Farwell.
Consent Agenda: Motion by Kelsay, seconded by Farwell to approve the consent agenda.
Voice vote: Ayes – unanimous. Nayes – none. Motion carried.
Motion by Kelsay, seconded by Backes to open the public meeting.
Voice Vote: Ayes – unanimous; Nayes – none. Motion carried.
This being the date and time for a public hearing on the Budget Year 2026 – 2027 Proposed Property Tax Levy, the public hearing was called to order by Mayor Wermers. A discussion was held. There were no written or oral objections.
Motion by Kelsay, seconded by Straube to close the public meeting.
Voice Vote: Ayes – unanimous; Nayes – none. Motion carried.
No Resolution is needed for the property tax levy hearing, only to approve the budget after the budget adoption hearing.
Motion by Straube, seconded by Schmitt to approve 2026 / 2027 Property Tax Levy.
Voice Vote: Ayes – unanimous; Nayes – none. Motion carried.
Motion Backes, second by Kelsay to adjourn the meeting.
Voice vote: Ayes – Unanimous, Nayes – None. Motion carried.
