City of Spillville – Special Council Meeting Minutes

Call to Order: Mayor Wermers called the special council meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
Roll Call: Present: Council Members Kelsay, Backes, Schmitt, and Straube. Absent: Farwell
Motion by Straube, seconded by Kelsey to approve the consent agenda.
Voice vote: Ayes – unanimous. Nayes – none. Motion carried. Absent: Farwell
Motion by Backes, seconded by Straube to open the public meeting.
Voice Vote: Ayes – unanimous; Nayes – none. Motion carried. Absent: Farwell
This being the date and time for a public hearing on the proposed Amended Fiscal Year 2025 – 2026 City Budget, the public hearing was called to order by Mayor Wermers. A discussion was held. No written or oral objections or public comments were received.
Motion by Straube, seconded by Kelsey to close the public meeting.
Voice Vote: Ayes – unanimous; Nayes – none. Motion carried. Absent: Farwell
Motion by Kelsay, seconded by Backes to approve Resolution 26-5-8 Amending the Adopted 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Budget.
Roll Call Vote – Schmitt, Kelsay, Straube, and Backes; Ayes – unanimous; Nayes – none. Motion carried. Absent- Farwell
Next council meeting is scheduled for June 9, 2026.
Motion by Straube, second by Backes to adjourn the meeting.
Voice vote: Ayes – Unanimous, Nayes – None. Motion carried.
