The Spillville City Council held the regular meeting at the Spillville City Hall at 6:00 PM. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Mayor Straube called the meeting to order with the following councilmen present Backes, Kelsay, Taylor and Schmitt. Absent, Wermers.
Motion by Kelsay, second by Taylor to approve items on the consent agenda as follows.
- Approval of minutes of previous meetings
- Claims
- Finance Reports including Annual SFR and AFR
Roll call vote: Ayes, unanimous. Nays, none. Motion Carried.
Received the Clocks report. The museum is closed for the season but private tours are still available. The museum is still short $4284 of the $37650 HVAC project. The replacement and repairs will begin soon. Any donations to the project are greatly appreciated.
Motion by Backes, second by Schmitt to approve the Farr Side liquor permit application. Roll call vote: Ayes, unanimous. Nays, none. Motion Carried.
Received a street project update.
Water Project –The geotechnical analysis is more than half completed.
The first reading of a revised parking ordinance will be held at the December meeting.
Motion by Kelsay, second by Backes to approve Resolution 23-11-2 setting the wages for Nikki Wagner, the new city clerk. Roll call vote: Ayes, unanimous. Nays, none. Motion Carried.
We are in the process of getting signatures for the property annexation east of town.
Motion by Kelsay, second by Taylor to set the public hearing for the flood plain ordinance for the December 5, 2023 meeting at 6:00. Roll call vote: Ayes, unanimous. Nays, none. Motion Carried.
Motion by Taylor, second by Schmitt to adopt Resolution 23-11-1 accepting the Street Finance Report as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes, unanimous. Nays, none. Motion Carried.
