The Spillville City Council held a special meeting at the Spillville City Hall at 6:00 PM. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Mayor Straube called the meeting to order with the following councilmen present Backes, Kelsay, Schmitt and Wermers. Absent, Taylor.
Motion by Wermers, second by Kelsay to approve items on the consent agenda as follows.

Roll call vote: Ayes, unanimous. Nays, none. Motion Carried.
The hiring committee met on Thursday, October 19th and conducted 3 interviews, one applicant had thought the position was full time and declined the interview. There were three good applicants and the committee gave their recommendations as to whom they felt was most qualified.
Applicants, hours and salary were discussed.
Motion by Wermers, second by Kelsay to offer the position to Nikki Wagner. Roll call vote: Ayes, unanimous. Nays, none. Motion Carried.
Motion by Backes, second by Schmitt to pay an hourly rate of $16.50 per hour during training and an annual salary of $19,500 when training is completed. Roll call vote: Ayes, unanimous. Nays, none. Motion Carried.
Motion by Kelsay, second by Schmitt to adjourn. Roll call vote: unanimous. Motion Carried.
